ACTING Headmaster of Anna Regina Multilateral School (ARMS), Mr. Lalljeet Ruplall said it has, again, done well at this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations. He reported that, of the 169 students who took the tests, 122 secured grades one to three passes in five or more subjects, including Mathematics and English A.
Ruplall said the results represent a 72 per cent overall pass and places the institution as the top performer in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) and sixth in the country.
He said ARMS recorded 92.3 per cent grades one to three pass rate as compared to 85 per cent in 2009.
Ruplall said the school has achieved 100 per cent grades one to three in 17 of the 27 subjects that were offered; between 90 and 99 per cent in three subjects; 80 to 89 per cent in four subjects and 70 to 79 per cent in others.
He said, with regard to English A and Mathematics, 98.8 and 93.4 per cent grades one to four passes were achieved.
Ruplall credits the showing to hard working teachers, students’ commitment and perseverance, parents’ assistance, active involvement of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), the School Board and the business community.
Of the successful candidates, two placed in the top ten countrywide, Yeeshana Ganpat gained 13 grade ones and one grade two and Safia Khan got 12 grade ones and two grade twos.
