TRISHWARI Ramdhary, the 22-year-old mother of two who was stabbed nine times, allegedly by the father of her children, is grateful to be alive after the brutal daylight knife attack. The woman, formerly of Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara, was discharged from Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) on Saturday but told the Guyana Chronicle she is still feeling a lot of pain and the incident has left her traumatised.
She, yesterday, expressed gratitude to all those who helped her and noted that her alleged attacker and his sister are before the Court.
Her children are presently staying with her mother and her reputed husband’s mother.
Ramdhary had only moved to Enterprise a day before she was wounded by the assailant about 11:30 h on August 22.
The two of them had separated two years ago.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Haymant Ramdhani, at Vigilance Court, also on East Coast Demerara, granted $300,000 bail to Abass Zaman, 27 and Zamaila Zaman, 23, of Sea View, Cornelia Ida, who are both charged, indictably, with the attempted murder of Ramdhary.
Reports are that Abass inflicted at least seven stab wounds to Ramdhary on Sunday morning at the East Coast Demerara location after they argued about custody rights of their two children, a seven-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl.
The couple separated two years ago after a tumultuous relationship. It is also alleged that Zamaila looked on as Abass launched the reported attack on his former reputed wife.
