Put an end to banditry now

POLICE Commissioner Mr. Greene says the police force has recognised that there is a link between the upsurge in armed robberies for hard cash and big entertainment shows but some promoters say that this is an unfair assumption which should be backed up with evidence. Who cares what these so called promoters think? They will say just about anything to defend their business. Their business is to make money and just don’t give a damn where the money comes from.
Mr. Green went on to say: “We have established that persons commit these crimes when there are these shows from overseas. Not that it has anything to decry the overseas shows… it seems that some people (the bandits) try to get money before these shows.”
Mr. Green you are the top man at the helm of Guyana’s police force and you are duty bound to uphold the law of the land and to serve and protect without fear or favour.
If what you have already established is true, then some serious action must be taken to put a full stop to this banditry.
If those in authority do not try to put a stop to this, then the mayhem will continue to reign on the innocent citizens of your country.
If this is allowed to continue then it’s a very sad day for most Guyanese just sitting there awaiting their turn who will be next to be robbed by bandits.
