Freed Forrester bolts from the courtroom

Providence murder accused Nigel Forrester, who was freed on a no-case submission yesterday, bolted from the Demerara Assize dock mesmerizing a press photographer who was waiting for a picture of him.
As soon as Justice Roxanne George gave Forrester the green light to leave the dock, the six-foot, stammering murder accused bolted like the “Bolt” of sprinting fame.  The case had toppled.
He never looked back to say goodbye or thanks to his  lawyer, Mr. Basil Williams who had made the successful no-case submission which was not only upheld by Justice Roxanne George but was conceded by the Prosecutors.
It was a bad day for the Police. The Judge said that it was the second time in a short while that an investigating team admitted that it had pursued a case that was devoid of merit.
The Chief investigator who charged the accused had admitted that he did not take a statement from the person who told him that the accused was the killer
