Banks DIH donate energy drinks to national athletes

SEVERAL of the country’s leading sportsmen and sportswomen have been introduced to a new line of energy drink being distributed locally by Banks DIH Ltd. in association with the Coca Cola Company.
Banks DIH Special Events Manager Mortimer Stewart said that his company recently launched a sampling exercise to give athletes a chance to taste the products which include Powerade, Glaceau Vitamin Water, Nestea Iced Tea and Minute Maid beverages.
The response has been heartening from the sampling and product sales, Stewart disclosed.
Powerade and Glaceau Vitamin Water were presented to the National cricketers currently preparing for the 2010 Airtel Twenty20 Champions League in South Africa next month, the National Under-17 footballers now preparing for CFU second round World Cup qualifying series and GCC hockey players as part of the promotion exercise.
Patrons at several fitness clubs around Georgetown including Genesis at Transport Sports Club, Flex Gym and Zahiff Fitness Gym were also presented with the beverages.
Stewart said the popular Glaceau Vitamin Water comes in three flavours, Defence, Essential and Connect, while the Powerade flavours are Jagged Ice, Infrared Freeze and Green Squall. The Minute Maid is sold in seven flavours while Lemon is the only flavour available in the Iced Tea.
Banks DIH Ltd is the sole distributor of all Coca Cola products in Guyana.
