Personnel from agencies in the state sector, particularly law enforcement entities, will have to subject themselves to this year’s round of polygraph testing to take place in a matter of weeks. This aims to ensure that integrity in these agencies is not compromised.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon made the announcement while speaking at his weekly post-Cabinet press briefing on Thursday.
Dr. Luncheon said that in 2010, the focus will continue on polygraphing of members of entities and units and as in the case before, Government will resort to overseas expertise, the same which had been previously utilised. The HPS said that re-testing of those persons who have been tested before will constitute the vast majority of the activities being conducted in the 2010 visit by the polygraph experts.
The HPS said that the testing will end by October.
When the Government embarked on polygraphing state security personnel, a number of officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit were dismissed based on the result of the tests.
