Linden robbery accused refused bail

MAGISTRATE Hazel Octave-Hamilton yesterday remanded Deon Joseph to prison when he appeared in court charged with robbery under arms.
Joseph was not required to plead to the charge. It is alleged that on August 17, at Victory Valley,
Wismar, Linden, armed with a knife, he robbed Yvonne Alphonso of $1,500 in cash.
Police Corporal Shellon Daniels, prosecuting, asked that Joseph be remanded to prison and the matter be transferred to Christianburg Magistrate’s Court.
Joseph will return to court at Christianburg on August 24.
