THIRTY-SIX-YEAR-OLD William Roberts of Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, yesterday appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton charged with simple larceny.
Roberts, a gold miner, was not required to plead to the allegation that, between August 8 and 9, at Essequibo Coast, he stole 16 ounces of raw gold valued $3.2M, belonging to Jainarine Ragubir.
The father of five was released on $50,000 bail and the case will come up again on September 29.
