The University of Guyana received another major book donation yesterday. The books and journals cover a number of fields including political science, international political economy, philosophy, sociology, and history. Librarians at the Tain campus where the books were presented estimate the value of the gift at $660,000.
Earlier in the year Dr. Persaud (right) presented $300,000 worth of books to the Turkeyen campus. To date Persaud has donated more than GY$1,000,000 in books to the University libraries.
At the simple ceremony at Tain, Dr. Persaud called on students to read carefully.
