GDF medical team attends to Ituni, Calcuni residents

Close to 200 residents of Ituni and Calcuni in the Upper Berbice River were beneficiaries of dental and general medical care when a team from the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Medical Corps took its outreach activities to the communities as part of the recently-concluded EXERCISE HOMEGUARD.

These activities are part of the Force’s Hearts and Minds programme which seeks to foster good relations among communities, through the provision of critical services.

The team distributed pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies to residents who expressed their appreciation to the medical team and stated that the community was willing to welcome the doctor at least once a year.

The GDF’s interaction with the citizenry is continuous.
