Eileen Marray is CAPE top student

BERBICIAN Eileen Marray has topped the country at the recently held Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination [CAPE] , amassing Grade One passes in Accounting Unit One,  Economics Unit One,  Management Business Unit One, Caribbean Studies and Communications.
The eighteen-year-old of New Street, New Amsterdam, had previously achieved four passes in Accounting Unit Two, Economics Unit Two, Management Business and Law Unit Two at the examination in 2008.
An academic  high flier, Marray was awarded a position at the prestigious Queen’s College , Guyana premier learning institution, after writing the National Grade Six Examinations, but opted to attend the New Amsterdam Multilateral School where, in 2006, she  obtained twelve Grades one passes in Mathematics, English A, English B, Social Studies, Integrated Science, Principles of Business, Principles of Accounts , Office Administrator, Economics, Information Technology, Human and Social Biology along with Electronic Documentation Preparation and Management.
The soft-spoken petite youth, describing herself as a self-motivated person, told the Guyana Chronicle that while she is proud of her achievements, ‘it was hard work’.
‘Completing the internal assessments, class papers, lessons, working on past examination papers, studying the syllabus, purchasing textbooks which aided greatly in my studies were just a few things I had to do. I am grateful to God, and the continual  support of my parents  Gyandat and Seline Marray, along with sisters, Katherine and Christine’, uttered the top student from her father’s pharmacy in New Amsterdam.
The upcoming entrepreneur will be attending the University of Guyana in order to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
Her father, Gyandat Marray, a pharmacist, related that he is elated at his daughter’s achievement, and declared ,’ hard work pays off’.
‘The family assisted her , but she did most by herself .She is a high achiever and I wish her well.
