The makings of a good documentary

THIS PAST Friday marked the culmination of a four-week workshop as the Centre for Communications Studies at the University of Guyana in conjunction with the School of Media Arts and Studies at Ohio University took the classroom to the outdoors to teach students here how to film television documentaries.
The workshop, which was funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), saw participants receiving 60 hours of formal instruction from Professor Eric Williams of the University of Ohio, as they prepared a series of 10 short documentaries.
Those documentaries were aired for the first time on Friday in the Education Lecture Theatre of UG’s Turkeyen campus.
