A nurse attached to the National Psychiatric Hospital was found hanging from a rafter in a bedroom of his home at Winkle Road , New Amsterdam, Berbice, on Sunday.
Dead is Arlington Massay, 45.
A suicide note , allegedly written by the deceased, expressed sorrow to his mother and siblings, along with his girlfriend Samantha , and explained that he was heavily in debt, and suicide seemed the only way out.
Samantha said she received a call from him that morning when he asked that she lend him $200, but she told him that she had no money.
She went to his home about two hours later and found that he had hanged himself.
The body is at the New Amsterdam Hospital awaiting a post mortem.
