Thirty-eight year old man electrocuted at Glasgow

A 38-year old man on Monday was electrocuted after coming into contact with an exposed electrical wire at Glasgow New Housing Scheme, East Bank of Berbice. The lifeless body of Rayond Khan, called Ray, was subsequently removed from the yard of Camille Vanderstoop and taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
An investigator, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the Guyana Chronicle that on Monday, Khan had responded to a request by his next door neighbour, to attend to a wire which was tied loosely under her home.
Not knowing that Khan had responded promptly to her request, Vanderstoop remained in her home where music was being played loudly.
Ten to fifteen minutes later, she called for him again, and was told that he was already at her premises.
On exiting her house, she observed that he was in an unconscious state and he was rushed to the hospital about three miles away.
This newspaper was told that his left hand displayed burns just below the wrist, a result of his coming into contact with a live wire.
A post mortem conducted by Dr Vivikanand Brijmohan confirmed that Khan was electrocuted.
Khan was expected to be buried on the Essequibo Coast yesterday.
