A LINDEN man, 26-year-old Albert Singh, of Lot 36 Lower Kara Kara, Mackenzie, has been charged with causing the death of cyclist Somal Singh,in a fatal road accident last Saturday. The defendant appeared before Magistrate Adela  Nagamootoo, at New Amsterdam Court,in Berbice, yesterday and was remanded to prison.
It is alleged that the prisoner was driving motor car PLL 7837 at a fast rate of speed on Number 12 Public Road, when it struck the victim, 17, on July 24.
The injured teen was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to Fort Wellington Hospital, at West Coast Berbice, too, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The case has been transferred to Fort Wellington Court for tomorrow.
