DDL establishes partnership with Sandals Resorts

DEMERARA Distillers Limited (DDL), sole manufacturers of world-renowned Demerara rums, has announced the signing of an agreement for a partnership between Sandals Resorts International for El Dorado Rums. Under the agreement, signed on Tuesday at the Sandals Resorts International Corporate Headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica,  and which comes into effect next Sunday,  El Dorado will be the exclusive pouring rum at all Sandals Resorts, located in Jamaica, Bahamas, Antigua, Saint Lucia, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
In addition, the El Dorado range of Premium and Super Premium rums will occupy prime positions in all Sandals Gift Shops at the resorts.
Sandals and DDL will also collaborate on branding and marketing opportunities at the resorts and in the International markets.
DDL Vice President – International Marketing, Komal Samaroo, after signing the agreement said that “Demerara Distillers Limited takes special pleasure in this new relationship with Sandals. Our El Dorado range of aged Demerara rums has a history of delivering excellence and quality to the world for over three centuries. In more recent times, Sandals has similarly packaged the Caribbean experience and delivered it to a global market with equal excellence and quality. So here are two Caribbean companies geographically at the two ends of the region but sharing the same passion for delivering the best of the Caribbean to the world.”
Adam Stewart, CEO of Sandals Resorts International, in his remarks after signing said “This partnership with Sandals Resorts International and Demerara Distillers Limited is both timely and symbolic of the members of the Caribbean Community shaking hands as neighbours and pulling the region closer together.  I am thrilled about the prospects for growing our brands and building on our own track records of taking quality Caribbean products to the World”.
