ANDRE Mickle, 22, pleaded guilty, on Wednesday, to breaking and entering Charlestown Post Office on July 16 but, after listening to him, Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson changed his plea and ordered him to stand trial on July 29. Meantime, the defendant (no address given) has been remanded to prison.
The prisoner on remand told the Court he was set up by a friend who said money was at the post office, located in Georgetown, where all he needed to do was pick it up.
Mickle said, when he arrived at the building, around 01:00 h, Police apprehended him.
He begged the magistrate for a chance, stating that it was the first brush with the law and would be the last.
However, the magistrate, entering a not guilty plea, advised Mickle to retain a lawyer.
‘Sponge Bob’ remanded on attempted burglary charge
ODEL Belford alias ‘Sponge Bob’ has been charged with attempting to commit a felony.
The defendant, of Lot 723 East Ruimvedt, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty.
Particulars of the offence said, on July 15, he attempted to enter the home of Tavel Stanford but Belford, who said he went to the side of the house to shelter from rain, was remanded to prison until September 13.
