ERIC Hassan, 23, was fined $10,000, on Wednesday, on conviction for using threatening language. Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson imposed the monetary penalty on him for the July 20 threat he issued to his girlfriend, Zalina Mohamed, on Croal Street.
Hassan, of Lot 115 South Turkeyen, also in Greater Georgetown, pleaded guilty, admitting that he committed the offence because the virtual complainant is having an affair with another man.
He claimed he met Mohamed speaking on the phone and, becoming angry, he threatened to kill her.
