Residents of Unity, Mahaica, and surrounding communities will soon benefit from a resource centre and recreational facility as construction is currently being facilitated by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications.
The contract for the project was awarded to Andre Howard Construction Services at a cost of $38,384,621, Chief Buildings Officer of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications Alvin Thorne said.
Thorne highlighted that the project involves the rehabilitation of existing buildings to allow a computer lab to facilitate 30 persons, library and changing rooms and washrooms.
Additionally, external works including the construction of an internal access road, timber access bridge, perimeter fence, caretaker’s hut and basketball court will be done. (GINA)
