A taxi driver’s arm was almost severed yesterday afternoon in an accident at Agricola Public Road, Greater Georgetown.
Eyewitnesses said that about 17:45 h a pickup single cab was proceeding south on the public road when, in the vicinity of Shell Road, Agricola, one of the vehicle’s wheels came loose and rolled into the middle of the road, causing the pickup to spin into the path of another heading in the opposite direction, then both vehicles slammed into a motorcycle.
The driver of the car almost lost his arm and he was rushed to the hospital. The rider of the motorcycle was thrown into a nearby drain and was also rushed to the hospital.
The vehicles were towed away to the Ruimveldt Police Station last night.
