Police hold suspect in seawall murder

A suspect is in police custody following the brutal murder of Claudine Inniss, 43, of Hadfield Street, Georgetown, whose mutilated body was found on the seawall.
The man was picked up yesterday by the police and is assisting with investigations.

The woman, who had her throat slit and whose body was found on the sea wall in Georgetown last Saturday, in the vicinity of Russian Embassy and Celina Resort, had been missing over that weekend.
Relatives said Inniss was last seen on Friday night in the company of a man and she spoke to her briefly but noted that they were arguing and walked into Smyth and Leopold Streets.
Inniss was asking the man for ‘something’ he apparently had that belonged to her and they had an exchange of words.
Inniss’s brother also spotted her that evening with the same man, who is known to him, and after she went missing, the same man came to him asking if he had seen her.
Relatives are of the opinion that it is the same man, who lives in Albouystown, who murdered their loved one and dumped her body on the seawall.
Inniss was unmarried and had no children.
