Buxton hosts annual Maypole ‘Queen-of-Queens’ show today

THE LONG weekend does not have to be that boring, especially if you reside on the East Coast of Demerara.
This afternoon, the annual Maypole ‘Queen-of-Queens’ will be held in Buxton at Trevor Bharrat’s Place.

According to the promoter, ‘Father Moey’, taking the event to Buxton is somewhat a positive, as it could be seen as yet another avenue for the villagers and others to see that Buxton could be a venue for enjoyable and socialising events, and not just a war-zone as was previously perceived.
He was quick to point out that those vying for the crown are young ladies from across the racial divide.
The event is being promoted under the ‘Good Vibes Family’, with music and other entertainment provided by Determine sound, Fusion, Ridden Squad, DJ Puffy, Pretty Love and Super Cat one-man band.
The interest shown in the event by the ‘Hits and Jams’ television crew and other major business entities is testimony that the Annual ‘Queen-of-Queens’ is now becoming a common feature on the calendars of party lovers.
Contestants for the ‘Queen-of-Queens’ crown are drawn from several East Coast villages, including Victoria, Bare Root, Buxton, BV, and even Mahaica.
