IT is ironic that Mr. Wheeler is part of the same country that recently apologized to Ireland for using the elements of racial epitaph and religious teachings to inflict years of suffrage. It was the” massah rule of divide and conquer “that was used in India, Africa, sub-Sahara, and of course South America with Guyana topping the chart. Mr. Rohee quite rightly pointed out that racial divide ‘was imported, fostered and institutionalised by the British ever since they landed in the colony known at that time as British Guiana.’ They have used the late Burnham to reap the success of their racist mechanism. Sadly we are catching on too late but yet some Guyanese are blinded by the “white man’s so called physiological supremacy.”
The Yankees are still reeling from their racial divide despite the turn of political events that will help to alleviate some of the mighty blows rendered in the past.
I have a deep respect for two pioneers of our country the late Mr. & Mrs. Jagan. Both worked on reversing the trend of racial divide and were successful in closing the gaps. Neither revenge nor payback was part of their ideology – a giant step far away from Mr. Wheeler and his ancestral heritage.
President Jagdeo and a few of his staff including Mr. Rohee understands the pain when a blunder like Mr. Wheeler and others try to point out ‘racial divide’ to block out their own dirty creation and short comings.
Hats off to Mr. Clement Rohee
