Reports are that around 18:00 h. Wednesday, the pick-up driven by Sherwyn Sealey, was driving up a mound on the Kwakwani Road when it crashed into the bus transporting Rusal employees to Aroima, resulting in the death of two persons and life threatening injuries to several others.
Persons travelling in the tray of the pick-up claimed that the driver was speeding along the trail, and recalled that that a few occasions they called out to him to slow down.

A Ministry of Agriculture vehicle in the vicinity was among the first to respond to the emergency, ferrying injured persons to the Kwakwani Hospital.  And as word reached the city, Captain Gerald Gouveia quickly flew to the area and air-dashed the casualties to the Ogle Air l airport. A Guyana Defence Force Skyvan also brought injured persons to the Ogle Airport.
At the hospital yesterday, groups of Kwakwani residents visited the injured men and prayed with them.
Meanwhile a Rusal Official said yesterday that the Company will honour all its obligations to those of its employees who were injured in the smashup as well as to the relatives of the worker who died.
Finance Director, Mr. Ramdeo Kumar said yesterday that five of the fifteen persons air-dashed to Georgetown were staffers.
Remington Wade, one of the two men who died, was also an employee, while the other deceased, Terry Budburg, 30, appeared to have been a passenger in the other vehicle involved in the smashup. (Shirley Thomas and Clifford Stanley)
