COLIN Macferr, 33, of Lot 33 James Street, Albouystown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday, charged with unlawfully assaulting Natasha Jodhan.
He pleaded not guilty and attorney-at-law Ms. Rochelle Liverpool, representing him, told the Court it was a malicious allegation against Macferr because Jodhan’s husband owed the defendant’s brother $1M.
The defendant said, after the virtual complainant’s husband was detained at Brickdam Police Station, also in Georgetown, she verbally abused him and they exchanged words but she, later, reported that he had assaulted her.
Jodhan said, after their argument, the defendant also slapped her.
Macferr was put on $20,000 bail until July 20.
