RAPHAEL Trotman the co-chair of the AFC having been a vital cog in the PNCR’s leadership and whose infamous statement that as an opposition party, the PNCR is “in the business of trying to get the government of the day out of office” and to have itself “as the alternate government” which served as an impetus for the politically orchestrated crime spree that followed, along with Khemraj Ramjattan and others formed the Alliance for Change (AFC)
Following Peter Ramsaroop’s attempted voyeur, Robert Corbin was retained as Ramsaroop’s attorney, not Comrades Trotman or Ramjattan. This was a sign of things to come for some and was a confirmation for others. Simply put, it was a defining moment in the PNC/AFC’s relationship, one often denied by the AFC.
Trotman and the AFC bloggers would go to lengths to deny the existence of a relationship with the PNC, though the evidence proved otherwise.  It is important to note that Ramjattan has always been the most vehement critic of the PPP/C administration while turning a blind eye to the atrocities committed by the PNC, while Trotman does the opposite by not criticizing his “former” comrades.
Enter Hartley Henry, the Bajan political consultant. Instead of inviting the C.N. Sharmas, Ravi Devs or the Roopnarnarine’s, Trotman invited none other than his “former” party comrade, Winston Murray to have a discussion on the best way to remove the PPP/C Government from Office.
The point here is that even though Trotman is now with the AFC his ideology has remained the same as when he was in the PNCR. His propensity for agitation though masked by his “angelic” aura that is presented to the public couldn’t be further from the truth.  The meeting with Mr. Henry, Trotman and Murray symbolizes what has always been known; that there exists a harmonious relationship between the AFC and the PNC. And it is said in some quarters that Trotman’s job as mandated by the PNC was to go out and solicit votes for the AFC under the guise of presenting an alternative to the electorate, when in fact a coalition was always on the cards from the inception, albeit unknowing to Ramjattan, the perennial “water boy.”
