Friendship Health Centre gets boat, engine donation

THE Government of Guyana, through the Regional Administration of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), has donated a boat with a 15 horse power (hp) outboard engine to Friendship Health Centre in lower Pomeroon River.
Before handing them over, Regional Chairman, Mr. Alli Baksh, explained that the Government’s policy is to provide free health care services to all Guyanese countrywide.

He said the donated means of transport will be used by the health worker in the beneficiary area, Ms. Arleen Boyan, to visit residents along Friendship canal and both banks of Pomeroon River, for whom she is responsible.
After accepting the donation, she thanked the Government and Baksh and said it would surely enhance health services delivery to persons living in remote riverine parts of Pomeroon.
