PERMANENT Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development, Mr. Seewchan has exhorted all councillors of Regional Democratic Councils (RDCs) countrywide to work together in the interest of developing the nation.
Addressing those in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) before the start of their statutory meeting on Tuesday, he said councillors, while at such fora, should forget to which political party they belong and collectively sort out issues for the betterment of their respective regions.
Seewchan said the Ministry is looking for maximum output and results from each RDC and Regional Administration.
He emphasised that the role and responsibilities of councillors are very important and vital for the support and functioning of the Regional Administrations.
But Parliament deals with issues and problems concerning the operations of the Regions, Seewchan reminded.
