Charged with damaging cell phone

ACTING Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday released Devon Moore on bail after he appeared in court charged with damaging his neighbour’s cellular phone.
Moore, 25, of ‘A’ Louisa Row, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge which said, on June 6 last, he unlawfully and maliciously damaged a cellular phone valued $18,000, belonging to Alisa Edwards.

Moore told the court that he did not know his address even though he was living there for over six months. He said he is a conductor for a route 45 minibus.
Edwards gave the court Moore’s address as she said they live on the same lot.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said Edwards gave the defendant her phone to charge and he returned it damaged.
The magistrate urged Moore to learn his address or else she would be forced to send him to a place that actually has one, referring to the prisons at Lot 12 Camp Street.
Moore was released on $15,000 bail and will return to court on June 30.
