Damage to property accused on $30,000 bail

Raul Blackman, 34, (no address given) yesterday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson to answer a damage to property charge.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on May 26, he unlawfully and maliciously damaged one car mirror, valued $2,000, property of Chris Rahaman.

The defendant told the court that he knows nothing about the allegation and that he was nowhere near the virtual complainant’s car.
The virtual complainant informed the court that the defendant asked him prior to the incident about someone else, and because he refused to answer, he became annoyed.
The man said on the day in question, he saw when the defendant smash his mirror with a piece of wood.
Blackman was put on $30,000 bail and the matter was transferred to another court for July 20.
