FINAL year students of the Essequibo Technical Institute (ETI) have donated a four feet by four feet illuminated emblem of it to the institution.
They also placed three directional signs and placed them strategically along the route leading there, completing a project recently unveiled by Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) Chairman, Mr. Alli Baksh. At the unveiling ceremony, he thanked the students for giving back to their alma mater and encouraged them to do other courses and elevate themselves in various fields of study.
ETI Principal, Mr. Dennis Jaikarran, said the undertaking was initiated through the exceptional foresight of the 2009-2010 finalists, with support also from the staff and first year students.
He said a committee was formed on November 19, 2009, and received help from the Students Council to garner funds.
Jaikarran said, on April 12, 2010, after finally reaching the financial target, the committee designed and paid for the making, wishing that the tradition will be maintained in future.
