-Minister Nadir tells attendees at Region Seven flag raising ceremony
Minister of Labour, Manzoor Nadir on Tuesday evening at Region Seven’s flag raising ceremony held at the Bartica Pavilion stated that the dreams of Guyana’s foreparents are being realized under the People’s Progressive Party/Civic Government.
With reference to the words of the National Anthem, “…and our is the glory, their eyes did not see…”, the minister told the gathering that the development of quality education, water supply, medical facilities and other developing projects are dreams realized that their fore parents did not see.
Minister Nadir noted that Guyana is on the verge of a major transformation and within a few years, Guyanese will enjoy the benefits of hydropower, affordable connectivity rates and the country will be a beacon for environmental practices.
He said that these changes will create employment opportunities for workers in the various sectors, adding that young people need to prepare themselves for these opportunities ahead as the country takes on a more prosperous path.
Minister Nadir also stated that the country will continue to move forward and urge the citizens to co-operate for the quest for development of the land of six peoples.
Several other Government Ministers fanned out to various regions to attend the 44th Independence flag raising ceremony.
Minister in the Ministry of Finance Jennifer Webster was at the Region Three function, Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee attended Region Four’s, Minister of Transport and Hydraulics Robeson Benn was in Region Ten, while Minister of Amerindian Affairs Pauline Sukhai was in Region One.
