Reputed husband refused bail in domestic violence case

ANOTHER man was remanded to prison in a domestic violence case yesterday.
Twenty-two-year old Anthony Etwaru (no address given) pleaded not guilty to unlawfully assaulting his reputed wife, Farzona Singh, on May 14.

Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for the defendant, who appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
The Prosecutor said the virtual complainant had taken her two children for the defendant to keep, as she was not feeling well and wanted to get medical attention but Etwaru became annoyed at the request and pushed the woman against a wall.
Etwaru admitted he was in a passion and apologised to the Court but was refused pre-trial freedom until May 21.
