At Demerara Assizes…
STATE Prosecutor Judith Girdharie-Mursalin yesterday closed her case in the Buxton murder trial at the Demerara Assizes, after presenting eight witnesses.
Following the closure, Defence Counsel Basil Williams indicated that he would be making no-case submissions, in the absence of the jury, on the resumption today.
As a result, Justice Roxanne George-Wiltshire, presiding, informed the jurors that they would be locked away while the legal arguments take place.
In the dock are Squince Mc Lennon alias ‘Killer’ and Trian Sumner nicknamed ‘Tatie’, indicted for the unlawful killing of Odingo Bryan at Buxton Side Line Dam, East Coast Demerara, on January 9, 2004.
