In a fatal accident at about 10:30 hrs on Saturday, at Parika, East Bank Essequibo, an unidentified man was killed.
Investigations revealed that the driver of motor car HB 5752 was proceeding along the roadway when it is alleged that the pedestrian attempted to cross the road and was struck down. He was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital and then transferred to the GPH where he succumbed to his injuries. The body is at the GPH mortuary.
The victim is of East Indian descent, thin built, of a dark complexion, about 25 years of age, about 5’ 4” in height, and was clad in a white jersey, black short pants, white boots and black socks.
