MEMBER of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Toolsie Narine has reported that the anti-truancy campaign was continued in the ‘Cinderalla County’ two weekends ago.
He told the Guyana Chronicle that it was conducted at Bush Lot and Riverstown on Essequibo Coast.
According to him, Schools Welfare Officers and others from the Department of Education were involved in the exercise that will be prolonged over the coming weeks, targeting schoolchildren not attending classes on a regular basis and children involved in child labour.
