CLAYTON Allen, 50, of Lot 179 South Better Hope, East Coast Demerara, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday, charged on three counts of fraudulent conversion.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges, particulars of which said, on September 26, October 3 and October 10, 2009, being solely entrusted by Subrina McAllister, with 300 pounds of chicken, valued at $90,000, to deliver to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat and return the proceeds, he fraudulently converted the money to his own use and benefit.
The magistrate explained that Allen, a foodstuff trader, had previous charges against him withdrawn and new ones substituted.
The defendant will remain on $250,000 bail, that he initially posted, until April 27.
