French national jailed for passport forgery

FRENCH national Asekende Jacobin (no address given) was yesterday sentenced to one year imprisonment, by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, on conviction for conspiracy to commit a felony.
The prisoner admitted that, last March 17, he conspired with person(s)
unknown to forge a French passport, in favour of himself, with the material insertion of a false immigration entry stamp in order that it may be used as genuine.
Jacobin told the Court he came to Guyana from Suriname by speedboat and went to Cheddi Jagan International Airport to depart for St. Lucia and a friend stamped the travel document for him.
