ICC launches T20 World Cup ‘Bring It’ Bus tour in Guyana

THE International Cricket Council (ICC) yesterday launched their ‘Bring It’ bus tour yesterday in Guyana and the 20-seater Caravan took off from the Guyana National Stadium at Providence and made its first stop at the Stabroek Market square. Scores flocked the bus which had persons sharing out bumper stickers and other memorabilia and two lucky persons won themselves a ticket each to see matches during the third staging of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup that begins on April 30 in Guyana.
Apart from its passing through Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Antigua, Guyana is the first of the four host nations (St Kitts, St Lucia and Barbados) for the T20 World Cup where the Bus tour begins.
According to Sabrina Panday, the Promotion and Corporate Services Officer for the event in Guyana, the Bus will head to Sea Wall on Sunday April 11 at 18:00 h., then to New Amsterdam on April 24, before making its final stop in Parika the following day.
Popular local comedians Lyndon ‘Zombie’ Jones and ‘Chow Pow’ are the two characters used to give trivia to fans so they win T-shirts with the slogan ‘I’m Bringing It’ written boldly in front and free tickets to matches hosted at the Providence stadium.
The ‘Bring It’ Bus tour is a scheme set up by the ICC to promote and spread the excitement and build awareness of the T20 World Cup which is being held in the Caribbean for the first time.
