FORMER Guyana and West Indies Under-19 skipper Steven Jacobs has maintained his incredible performance for his adopted club in neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago, Evergreen Cricket Club (ECC) where he has chalked up two tons on his way to topping the club’s batting aggregate.
Jacobs was back home for a short holiday earlier this year during the country’s 40th Republic Anniversary celebrations and on his return to the Twin Island Republic, chalked up scores of 161 against the powerhouse club Powergen and 146 against Wanderers, which took him to 661 runs and a comfortable position at the top of his club runs-scoring list with an average of 50.80.
He followed up his first innings ton against Powergen with 37 in the second innings in a game his team lost by 10 wickets, while his ton against Wanderers was not enough to prevent the opposition from taking first innings points.
The 22-year-old Jacobs, who plays for Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) on the local scene and has represented Guyana at the senior level where he accumulated 171 runs from 12 innings at an average of 15.54 and a top score of 54, is looking forward to his return to the club where he will be playing three more two-day and six limited overs matches.
Jacobs continues to shine for Evergreen
