SAADI Holder, who admitted stealing clothing from Changing Room Boutique in Camp Street, Georgetown, will have to spend the Easter weekend in prison. Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, before whom the defendant pleaded guilty, had been given an opportunity to make restitution but the relative she said had the money did not attend Court.
Consequently, Holder was remanded to jail until April 6.
Particulars of the offence, to which she confessed, said, on March 30, she stole garments, valued $35,000, belonging to Alan Fernandes.
Bibi Khan, who represented the store owner, said Holder was browsing through the place and went into the changing room where she stashed the booty in a bag but was apprehended while leaving the premises.
