Bosai conducts first 2010 medical outreach in Coomacka

BOSAI Minerals (Guyana), the Chinese company which manages the Linden bauxite operations, conducted its first quarter medical outreach for 2010 at Coomacka Health Centre last Saturday.
At least 100 people were beneficiaries of free services offered to residents of Coomacka Mines.
Bosai officials, Mr. Stephen Ma and Mr. Alvin Zhang accompanied the team, comprising Chinese doctors attached to Linden Hospital Complex, Dr. Zheng, Dr. Xu, Dr. Sheng, two community health workers and a nurse.
Others with them visiting the mines community, about seven miles from Mackenzie, was International Labour Organisation (ILO) representative, Ms. Michelle Johnson.
Youth Challenge International Guyana’s, Mr. Cleazell Gray and Ms. Ronetta Ashley did voluntary HIV/AIDS counselling and testing, with assistance from Bosai’s peer educator, Mr. C. Edwards.
Bosai Safety and Health Coordinator, Mr. Raymand Sanker said the exercise was something the bauxite firm will conduct every quarter and it started around.
