TWO men are in Police custody following the discovery of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition after a Police chase on Monday night.
Police reported that, about 22:15 h, ranks on mobile patrol at Friendship, East Bank Demerara, signalled the driver of motor car PLL 9569 to stop after the headlights of the vehicle were  observed to be defective.
However, the man at the wheel continued driving and, while being pursued by the Police, was seen to throw out a package which, when retrieved, was found to contain the illegal 9 mm pistol with three matching rounds.
The getaway car was, eventually, stopped by the Police and the two men inside were arrested and the vehicle impounded.
