Long serving Arya Samajist Pt. Mahadeo was unanimously elected Honorary President of the West Demerara Central Arya Samaj at its  recent Annual General Meeting at the Vreed-En-Hoop Vedic Mandir.
President of the Guyana Central Arya Samaj, Dr. Vishwa Mahadeo, lauded Pt. Mahadeo for his distinguished service during his long tenure as President of the regional body. Performing the duties of Returning Officer at the AGM, he said that the conferral was a timely gesture that paid credit to hard work, dedication and commitment.
Others elected were Jaidev Dudhnauth (President), Raghudat Ramnarain (Vice-President), Dhanrajie Haimraj (Secretary), Rupchand (Assistant Secretary), Parmanand Sukraj (Treasurer) and Haimraj (Public Relations Officer).
In his capacity as President, Dudhnauth said that the immediate priority of the regional body is the upcoming 135th anniversary celebrations, and this will be discussed at the first meeting of the executive members scheduled for Sunday at the Vreed-En-Hoop Vedic Mandir.
