A large crowd gathered early yesterday morning outside the Meadowbrook home of well-known businessman Simeon Charles when news of his death got around.
The 37-year-old internet café owner of 152 Waini Street, Meadowbrook Gardens, Georgetown, was found dead in his home at about 6:00 hours yesterday. Reports said the man was out with friends on Wednesday night celebrating his birthday.
When his girlfriend tried to wake him yesterday morning, he did not respond.
When the Chronicle visited the house yesterday there was loud wailing from relatives as a hearse arrived to remove the body.
But Charles’ family members transported the body to the hospital in their own vehicle. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
Family members were tight-lipped about the incident yesterday.
