Kaieteur News should have had the decency to publish my response

AFTER two days of responding to article by the Kaieteur news, “Kwame McCoy under investigation again,” the editorial management of the newspapers have bluntly refused to publish my response to their misleading article.
Any responsible newspaper would publish forthwith a response or reaction to its article, especially when there are questions surrounding its facts and more so, its
credibility is at stake. I have the ‘right to reply’ particularly in a case where there are factually inaccuracies which targets my character as a public official.  Internationally, the ‘right of reply’ is one of the basic rights recognized by the media, and is viewed as a proper form of ethical behavior. My response should be given the similar space and prominence to the original misleading article.
But the Kaieteur News resistance to put aside shame and ethically correct the impression they tried to give about me validates my arguments about their sinister plan to target Kwame Mc Coy for negative publicity. It also confirms the information about their editorial policy that is tailored to suppress my views, ideas and opinions.
Immediately after mailing my press statement on Monday, I checked with Kaieteur news and other media houses to ensure they were in receipt of my response. That said evening Glan Lall, publisher of the newspaper called me on my mobile phone and I dismissed his conversation to avoid any discussion on my press statement.
The following day I perused the newspaper and did not see my response published. I immediately called Adam Harris, Editor-in-chief who advised me that Glen Lall had advised him he was not obliged to carry any response by me. Subsequently, I called Glen Lall and he mentioned to me there was a space problem which prevented the response from being published.
In the same way Kaieteur News found space to publish a misleading and negative story about me, it should have been decent enough to carry my response or reaction.  We are in the third day since this story was published and to date, there has been no retraction.
The public ought to remind itself of the callous, reckless and wicked nature of those who own and manage the Kaieteur news.
It is abundantly clear their aim is to target my character at all expense while committing liable, slander, and defamation in the process to achieve its objective.
Indeed all this is not so surprising considering Glen Lall was a ‘Big Market Vendor’ selling bora. To date he is unable to offer an explanation for the accumulation of his wealth, suspected to be gotten through his involvement in certain activities.
I have no skeletons in the closet.
