YOHAN Hunte and Hardal Singh (no addresses given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday, charged with assaulting one another. It is alleged that, on March 5, Hunte unlawfully assaulted Singh and made use of abusive and threatening language to Joseph Satro, causing a breach of the peace.
The defendant pleaded not guilty and claimed that he operates a barber shop opposite Satro’s store and the virtual complainant attacked him because he removed a barricade from in front the latter business place.
Singh also pleaded not guilty to abusing Hunte and told the Court Hunte first initiated the incident.
Hunte was put on $10,000 bail for the assault charge and on self-bail with respect to the other two.
Singh was ordered to post similar surety and they both have to be back in Court on April 15.
