One seriously injured, the other on-the-run

Regent Street stabbing…
ONE MAN is severely injured and another on the run following an altercation on lower Regent Street around 17:00h yesterday.

According to several bystanders, the argument started “up de road” but came to a head on the pavement, a block away from the Acme Photo Studio located at the corner of Regent and King Streets.

Further reports say one of the men involved in the fracas is a tattoo artist known as ‘Buck Deportee’ who plies his trade in the area, and is so called because of his obvious Amerindian roots and the fact that he is among the growing population who have had the misfortune of being repatriated to their country of origin from other jurisdictions.

The tattoo artist allegedly pulled a knife he had concealed under his clothing and stabbed the other man in the region of the stomach, twisting the weapon in the process for good measure.

The victim was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), bleeding profusely from the mouth and the wound, while his assailant fled the scene.

Other persons on the scene who know the  artist said that only a week ago, he had had to flee to Berbice after being involved in  another fight in which he was the one that was stabbed. They lamented the fact that he apparently came back to give vent to his bruised feelings.
