Accused jewellery snatcher refused bail

CLINT Gobin, 22, of Lot 3382 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was yesterday remanded to prison on a larceny from the person charge.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, he pleaded not guilty to having stolen two gold chains, valued $75,000, from Brian De Santos last February 28.

The virtual complainant, who was in Court, said the defendant snatched his jewels and ran away but he pursued him and Police made the arrest.
De Santos said Gobin handed over the jewellery to the Police.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail, noting that the thief was caught with the booty in his hands.
Gobin has to be back in Court on March 10.
