Moral majority does not favour power sharing with PNCR

POWER sharing is alive and well in Guyana but those in the PNC’s camp cannot see this because they have an agenda of their own devising that will not and cannot work in Guyana. The power sharing I speak about is in the form of Minister  Mansoor Nadir who shares power with the government in the Labour Ministry making valuable contribution to nation building. Something of that nature could or should I say might be painstakingly worked out with the PNCR somewhere in the distant future.
But herein lies the problem with the PNCR they are not interested in the model that I have postulated above since they are of the belief that it is their God given right to have equal rights as the ruling party, something that cannot happen in Guyana.
You see the constitution of Guyana, like any normal one, makes provisions for an election from which the winner is chosen that is, the party earning 51% or more of the votes and that party is called upon to form the new government. This has been the practice since there was a restoration of democracy in 1992.
The situation that presents itself is the attitude of the main opposition since that time they are now lashing out in desperation for power, not sharing of power.
The PPP/C might accommodate them if it so chooses, but I must caution President Jagdeo this is not the desire  of the moral majority of Guyana and to go against the expressed will of the people is setting a dangerous precedent. I believe when you are dealing with a hopelessly polluted bunch of individuals like the PNCR power sharing should be treated with the contempt it deserves and no amount of threats coming from that section of the opposition should change this fact. The people of Guyana have spoken and will speak again come 2011. They have placed a party in position to govern the affairs of state and that is what the PPP/C ought to do instead of being bogged down by an opposition ranting for power.
